Bon Voyage to Rachel from mom in NYC!

Saw Rachel, her squash coach and some of her teammates off to Tel Aviv on El Al today. Got a final text from her saying goodbye. Very happy for her yet sad to see her go. She was sick since arriving in NYC so rather than a whirlwind adventure in the Big Apple we holed up in our room for most of the time. Visiting the ER in NYC was not as harrowing as I thought; only took 2 hours, and the verdict from 2 doctors (one a squash player who happens to play a Master's Teammate of Greg's and was very excited for Rachel) was that she had a virus that just needed time to run its course. So we got the usual over the counter drugs, drank lots of water and tea, played speed and gin rummy in our room, went to bed early and ate matzo ball soup. We did have Chinese food with my friend Bonnie St. John the night of our arrival. I was excited to catch up with her and to receive a copy of her latest book, Live Your Joy. I will miss Rachel so much and although she was sick, I was glad to spend together-time with her in NYC before her trip. I can't wait to see her well in Israel. Please send your healing thoughts her way.
